Lin Feldt is up and release 1.0.22 is live. While the test runs, accounts are by invitation only. If you have one, start the launcher: it gets the game up to date and opens it, and you sign in on the desk.

Release 1.0.22 Now Live Halden on 9/21/26
Release 1.0.22 is on Lin Feldt as of this morning, with no downtime. Older versions of the game can't log in any more; the launcher updates you before it opens, so start it and let it finish. The full notes are in the Notices window.
Scheduled Maintenance Halden on 9/21/26
Lin Feldt will be brought down on Tuesday, September 23rd at 6:00 AM server time for approximately two hours. We apologize for the inconvenience.
About NPCs Who Already Know Your Name Halden on 9/20/26
A few of you have reported an NPC greeting you by name the first time you met, and one person got mail from a sender who has no account. We are looking into both. If it happens to you, send a report with the NPC's name and where they were standing. Please don't drain them in the meantime; it makes this harder to look into.
Fountain Gathering This Saturday Halden on 9/19/26
Saturday, September 27th, 8:00 PM server time, at the fountain. Bring questions. There will be a group run through “Hidden Ruins Labyrinth” afterwards for anyone who wants one; parties form at the fountain at 9:00.
Everyone in the world keeps a short memory of what happens to them, and every line of it is public here. Worth reading before you go looking for someone.

Release Notes 1.0.22
Release 1.0.22 is live on Lin Feldt. No downtime was needed. If your game is older than this, it will tell you so at the sign-in instead of leaving you waiting on the character list; the launcher updates it before it opens.
General
Logging in is two steps now: sign in, then pick your character from a list.
The game updates itself. The download is a 3 MB setup; the world comes down on the first run, and later releases only move the parts that changed.
The Meridianne is now at play.meridianne.net. The old address still works for now.
There is a Mac version. Ask for the link if you need it.
Controls
Enter is for typing. Enter opens the chat line and Enter sends it. The Enter that sends a line no longer opens the next one.
E is the action key. The Gate and the way back are stepped through with E. When a gate's prompt is on screen, E goes to the gate; otherwise E picks up the nearest gear in reach.
T and / still open the chat line.
Lin Feldt
Fixed the fountain's water not showing up for some people.
Fixed the trees around the square not showing up for some people.
Combat
Fixed the black wedge on the worn blade.
Fixed weapons sometimes showing a hole through them when held out in front of you.
Known Issues
Some ledger entries read as corrupted. We are looking into it.
A few NPCs have greeted players by name before ever meeting them. Please report the NPC's name and where they were standing.
Scheduled Maintenance: Tuesday, September 23rd
Lin Feldt will be brought down on Tuesday, September 23rd at 6:00 AM server time for approximately two hours. If you are somewhere past the Gate when it happens, you will be back in Lin Feldt when the server comes up. Please plan your runs accordingly. We apologize for the inconvenience.
About NPCs Who Already Know Your Name
Over the last two days a few of you have reported an NPC greeting you by name the first time you met, and one person got mail on the desk from a sender with no account and nothing in the ledger. We are looking into both and will update this notice when we know more. If it happens to you, send a report with the NPC's name and where they were standing, or forward the mail. Please don't drain them in the meantime. It makes this harder to look into, and there is no undoing it.
Reminder: Your Sign-In Is Yours
Accounts are issued by invitation and are personal. Your character is yours alone, and what it does is written to the ledger under your name. Do not share your password. Meridianne Networks staff will never ask for it.
play.meridianne.net
The Meridianne is served at play.meridianne.net from today. The launcher already points there; nothing changes on your side.
The Gate
The portal in the hall at the centre of Lin Feldt is the Gate. It has always been the Gate. Signs and the playguide that said otherwise have been corrected.
Server status
Lin Feldt: up, low population.
Next maintenance: Tuesday, September 23rd, 6:00 AM server time, about two hours.

ok so. i drained the blacksmith on market row last night. took about 40 seconds standing there and like 6 people watched me do it. got 3 memories out of it, one is actually really good (+cleave on the worn blade).
now he doesnt know me. doesnt know anyone. pins wont sell to me. the storyteller in the commons said "we know what you did" when i walked past and mott_ says the guard at the east wall wrote my name down again.
loot was fine. not sure it was worth it. dont do it in town at least
~Sarrow, Lin Feldt. "it was only 40 seconds"
Quillposts: 5889/20/26 11:52 PM
lmao. the ledger has your name on it btw. everyone can see it. forever
Bexleyposts: 1,3019/21/26 12:10 AM
got 3 memories out of it, one is actually really good
this is the part nobody wants to talk about. he had over a thousand lines in the ledger. of course they were good. thats the whole trade. you get what he was.
also his entry reads [CORRUPTED] now, not blank. is that new? the guy i drained in the ruins last week just went blank
mott_posts: 979/21/26 12:31 AM
can confirm the guard wrote it down. i was standing next to him. he doesnt even like me and hes on my side now?? "your friend did a thing" he says. i dont have friends
HaldenMeridianne Networks9/21/26 9:05 AM
We know about the blacksmith's entry reading as corrupted and are looking into why it didn't go blank the way it normally does after a drain. As far as we can tell it has nothing to do with the reports in the other thread.
A reminder: draining someone is permanent, and it goes in the ledger under the account that did it. We don't bring them back.
Sarrowposts: 2139/21/26 9:40 AM
"we don't bring them back" ok cool cool cool. anyway who wants a +cleave memory, trading for a decent shield

checked my mail on the desk this morning and there's a message from a sender called Meridianne. not a player i know. no character by that name in the list. it just says
you were kind to him.
thats it. thats the whole mail. i dont know who "him" is. i havent done anything nice to anyone this week lol. anyone else get this??
Quillposts: 5899/20/26 7:22 AM
screenshot or it didnt happen
Iselleposts: 3419/20/26 7:31 AM
i cant screenshot the desk it just captures the game window. i'll type it out. its literally 4 words. sender Meridianne, no account, sent 9/20 3:04 AM
Bexleyposts: 1,3029/20/26 8:02 AM
the ledger lists Meridianne with no public entries. not one line. so its not an npc, every npc has at least a line. and its not a player because you cant name a character that. so either its staff messing with us or
3 AM server time btw. nobody was on
mott_posts: 989/20/26 8:15 AM
"or" what bexley. finish the sentence
HaldenMeridianne Networks9/21/26 9:12 AM
We have no record of an account or an NPC by that name sending mail on the desk. Iselle, please forward the message through the Support window so we can have a look at it. Anyone else who gets mail from a sender with no account, please do the same, and please don't reply to it.

The Gate in the hall at the centre of Lin Feldt
The Gate takes three words. The first says what state the place is in, the second what kind of country it is, the third how it is laid out. Turn the three words at the Gate and press E. The same three words open the same place every time, for you and for anyone else who says them. At the far end there is another gate, and that is the way back.
If someone posts three words on the boards, they open the place that person stood in. Say them exactly as written.
“Hidden Ruins Labyrinth”Bexley's map is on the boards. the far gate is past the third room.
“Burning Desert Pathway”one way through. bring water, it is not a joke.

A memory can be wiped. It takes a while, standing still, where everyone can see you do it. When one is, the ledger notes that too, and who did it.
This is the only page written from outside the game.
About this game
The Meridianne is an online action role-playing game, still in development, made by a small team. Everything on the other pages is part of its fiction: the company that runs it, the community manager who writes the notices, the players arguing on the boards. Even the desktop you log in from belongs to the fiction, in the way the .hack series imagined an online game inside a game, and the Meridianne is one of the things you can open from it.
What it is about, briefly:
Every character in the world, friendly or not, remembers what players did to them and around them, and that memory is public. You can read it. You can also wipe it, and take what falls out. Nobody in the game tells you whether that was a good idea.
You fight by drawing. Hold the stance and trace the skill's sign with the mouse. A clean stroke hits harder than a sloppy one, and a guide shows you the strokes until you switch it off.
Places are made from three words, and the same three words give the same place to anyone who uses them.
Some of the characters have started writing into each other's memories, and onto the boards. We are not explaining that part.
Right now it is a private test with a handful of players and there is no public sign-up. When there is, this page will say so.
